Our
History
Emerybuilt,
Inc. is a family owned and operated business out of Chesapeake,
Virginia. Emerybuilt began in 1998 as a side project
for Crossroads Machine, Inc., a general welding and fabrication
machine shop. This side project eventually gave
way to the original Emerybuilt.com and business picked
up significantly. What started as a fun side project
suddenly erupted into a thriving business with sales
of tractors and generators up and down the east coast.
The name Emerybuilt is
an homage of sorts to the late Emery Hochstetler. "Gramps," as
he was affectionately known to everyone, was a popular
local carpenter who specialized in making some of the
best furniture most of which is still in use to today
in homes across the country. Born February 6, 1897,
Emery ran a farm in Holmes County, Ohio before moving
his family to Norfolk County, Virginia in December of
1935. There he made custom cabinets, tables, bureaus
and other high quality carpentry projects. At the
same time he also pasteurized and delivered milk for
the local dairy.
Though he passed away
in 1986, his legacy lives on in those who knew him best. That
is why his old barn and work horses (with Gramps at the
reigns) from the farm in Ohio are featured as our background. It
is a reminder of the hard work and dedication to a job
well done that he engrained and inspired in his future
generations.
Today, Emerybuilt, Inc.
stands alone as a company dedicated to quality both in
product and in price as well as impeccable customer relations. No
matter what, the customer always comes first. Why? Because
that's what Gramps would have done.
